My name is Sylvanna Bielko, born and raised Hoosier from Fort Wayne, Indiana. I am a Doctoral Candidate in the Department of Environmental Health in the School of Public Health (SPH) and am currently working on my dissertation looking at various formats of educational interventions to increase hearing protection device use among youth who live and work on farms. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry and Exercise Physiology from Hanover College and Master’s in Exercise Physiology from IU. As a member of the GPSG, I serve on the Health & Wellness Committee and hope to develop programs that encourage a healthy and well-rounded lifestyle. I am also the President of the SPH Student Government. My hope is to make connections with fellow graduate students across IU, to be a voice for graduate students from SPH, and foster relationships with fellow graduate students that will continue after our time at IU.
